The Girls Skills Success Project, implemented by Okoa New Generation, is a transformative initiative that equips young women with digital literacy and practical vocational skills to foster economic independence and self-reliance. The project targets out-of-school girls and young women from marginalized communities.
Participants receive hands-on training in baking, food processing, soap making, dairy production, and reusable sanitary pad manufacturing. Entrepreneurship education is integrated with technical skill-building, enabling participants to start and manage their own micro-enterprises.
Financial literacy, branding, and market access are promoted to help young women transition from informal labor to sustainable income-generating activities. Community exhibitions and mentorship sessions further boost visibility and confidence, allowing participants to showcase their products and connect with buyers.
