Sauti ya Dada, implemented by Okoa New Generation with support from the Creative Action Institute, is a dynamic initiative that amplifies girls’ voices in climate justice, leadership, and civic advocacy. The project engages adolescent girls through creative school clubs, storytelling, and digital platforms—nurturing critical thinking, resilience, and public speaking skills while promoting gender equality and environmental awareness.
A key component of the project focuses on menstrual health and hygiene (MHH). Girls are supported with menstrual health kits, including reusable sanitary pads and hygiene supplies, to ensure dignity and uninterrupted school attendance.
The project also integrates digital learning tools, such as the Shangazi Jane Q&A feature, which allows girls to access accurate, age-appropriate information about menstruation, puberty, and body changes in a safe and interactive format.
Through these interventions, Sauti ya Dada not only improves girls’ health and confidence but also empowers them to become change-makers in their communities.
98% school retention and 99% pregnancy-free rates among participants.
80% of girls reported increased self-confidence, leadership skills, and civic engagement.
230 girls led community-based climate resilience initiatives.
Distributed 1,200 menstrual health kits to reduce absenteeism and ensure dignity.
Over 2,500 girls accessed digital menstrual health education via Shangazi Jane platform.
Join hands with ONG and the Creative Action Institute to empower girls as leaders, climate advocates, and community change-makers.
