Mwanamke na Afya Project

Empowering women with disabilities and adolescent girls in sexual and reproductive health.

Rights-based Women & SRHR Empowerment

The Mwanamke na Afya Project is a rights-based initiative that empowers women with disabilities and adolescent girls to take control of their sexual and reproductive health. It addresses critical gaps in access to family planning, early screening, and inclusive health education, especially for underserved and marginalized groups.

Through targeted outreach, the project provides education on SRHR, including cervical cancer, hepatitis B, and other reproductive health conditions. It links beneficiaries to accessible health services, ensuring early detection and treatment while promoting dignity, autonomy, and informed decision-making.

The project also strengthens the health system by training providers in disability-inclusive service delivery and builds community support through peer-led groups that advocate for health rights and challenge stigma.
